Logging into OKTA Using a YubiKey on macOS
- Receive OKTA Invite Email:
- Open the invite email from OKTA in your inbox.
- Click on the activation link provided in the email to begin the setup process.
- Set Up Your OKTA Account:
- Follow the prompts to set up your OKTA account, including creating a password and setting up security questions.
- Install YubiKey Manager:
- Go to the Yubico website.
- Download the YubiKey Manager for macOS. https://developers.yubico.com/yubikey-manager-qt/Releases/yubikey-manager-qt-latest-mac.pkg
- Open the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions to complete the setup.
- Insert Your YubiKey:
- Insert your YubiKey into a USB port on your macOS computer.
- Configure YubiKey:
- Open the YubiKey Manager application.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to configure your YubiKey. This may include setting a PIN and registering the YubiKey with your OKTA account.
- Log into OKTA:
- Open your web browser and navigate to your organization's OKTA login page.
- Enter your username and password, then click "Sign In".
- Use YubiKey for Authentication:
- When prompted for multifactor authentication, select the YubiKey option.
- Touch the gold contact on your YubiKey when it starts flashing to complete the authentication process.
- Access Your OKTA Dashboard:
- Once authenticated, you will be redirected to your OKTA dashboard where you can access your applications and services.
